Late returns

You have two hours' grace at no charge. Beyond two hours a full extra day is charged at your daily rate. If you know you are running late, message us: extending is usually easier.

For the safety of customers, passengers and other road users, the following actions are prohibited when renting or using a vehicle from GK Car Rental:

  • Driving without a valid licence or while legally prohibited from driving.

  • Allowing an unauthorised person to drive the rental vehicle.

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that impairs driving ability.

  • Using the vehicle for illegal activities, racing, reckless driving or unauthorised commercial purposes.

  • Smoking inside the vehicle where prohibited by the rental policy.

  • Transporting prohibited, illegal or dangerous substances.

  • Overloading the vehicle or using it beyond its permitted capacity.

  • Taking the vehicle outside the UAE or into restricted areas without prior written authorisation.

  • Tampering with the odometer, vehicle tracking devices or safety equipment.

  • Subleasing, selling, pledging or transferring the vehicle to another person without written approval.

Violations may result in additional charges, termination of the rental agreement, insurance consequences or legal action, as applicable under the rental agreement and UAE law.

Customers renting a vehicle from GK Car Rental are responsible for using and caring for the vehicle properly throughout the rental period.

  • Vehicle Inspection: Inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage before departure.

  • Safe Driving: Follow UAE traffic laws, road signs, speed limits and parking regulations.

  • Traffic Fines and Tolls: Pay applicable traffic fines, toll charges such as Salik, parking fees and other charges in accordance with the rental agreement.

  • Vehicle Care: Keep the vehicle reasonably clean and return it in the agreed condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.

  • Fuel: Return the vehicle with the agreed fuel level. Refuelling charges may apply if the fuel level is lower than required.

  • Accidents and Damage: Immediately notify the rental company and relevant authorities when required if an accident, damage or theft occurs. Obtain the necessary official reports.

  • Maintenance and Warning Lights: Report mechanical problems or warning lights promptly. Do not arrange unauthorised repairs.

  • Vehicle Security: Lock the vehicle when unattended and take reasonable steps to protect the keys and belongings.

  • Return Time: Return the vehicle at the agreed date, time and location. Additional charges may apply for late returns or extensions that have not been approved.

  • Rental Agreement: Follow the rental agreement, insurance conditions and any written instructions provided by GK Car Rental.

Customers may be liable for costs arising from their negligence, misuse or breach of the rental agreement, subject to applicable law and the terms of the contract.
